Nutrition & fueling
Make nutrition part of the daily plan. Pull calories, macros, and weight from your preferred source, and get fueling advice that adapts to today’s workout intensity and duration.
Direct Garmin Connect integration
A first-class Garmin connection so your recovery data (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, Body Battery) and activities sync straight into IntervalCoach, instead of relying on a third-party relay to pass them along. The payoff: your morning readiness is ready earlier and more reliably, and we can use Garmin-native signals like Body Battery.
Smart workout-duration suggestions
Recommend a sensible session length based on where you are in your training week, instead of a fixed default.
Schedule a training plan to start on a future date
Set a plan to begin on a chosen future date rather than starting immediately.
DFA a1 — aerobic threshold (top of Zone 2) from your heart rate
Automatically estimate your aerobic threshold (the top of Zone 2) from your ride data using DFA a1, a metric derived from your heart-rate variability. It's the boundary that decides how much easy endurance work you should be doing, and the hardest one to pin down without a lab test. With a heart-rate chest strap and the AlphaHRV app, IntervalCoach would read this value after your rides and use it to sharpen your Zone 2 and tailor your workouts more precisely. (Aerobic threshold / LT1 only for now, not a replacement for your FTP.)
Race-time predictions (5K / 10K / half / marathon)
See predicted finish times for the common race distances based on your current fitness, like Garmin, Strava and Stryd. A quick read on where your form puts you across 5K, 10K, half and marathon.
Richer strength training
Strength sessions are already part of your plan. This makes them deeper: proper exercises with sets and reps, tailored to your sport and the equipment you have, and counted as real load instead of a generic "strength session" block.
Use your own tested training zones, not just FTP
Let IntervalCoach prescribe and analyze against the power and heart-rate zones you've set from your own testing (lab, ramp, or field tests), instead of only standard percentages of FTP.
Sync weekly TSS targets to Intervals.icu
Push your weekly training-load (TSS) targets to your Intervals.icu calendar so they show up alongside your planned workouts.
Show both power and heart-rate targets in each workout
For riders who switch between a bike with a power meter and one without (or run by HR on hilly days), show both the power and heart-rate target on each workout step so the same session works whichever you're on, instead of having to change a single plan-wide setting that flips every workout.

Season plan: see your whole year with multiple goal races
Plan your whole season in one view, not just the weeks up to your next race. Set several goal events across the year and give each a priority (A, B or C). Your training plan then stretches from the next few weeks out to the whole season, so you can see where your peaks land and how each block of training ladders toward them. What it adds: Multiple goals across the year, with A/B/C priorities that shape how much you taper for each. Phase overview for the full season: base, build, peak, taper and the recovery blocks between races. A fitness (CTL) projection across every race, so you can see your form rise into each peak and rebuild between them. Smart warnings when races sit too close to peak for both, or when a plan ramps up too fast. The plan stays flexible: only the current week is turned into real workouts, and the season ahead re-shapes itself around missed weeks, illness or a change of goal. It builds on the existing Training Plan page, so your single-goal view keeps working exactly as before.
Proactive coaching: the coach reaches out to you
Today IntervalCoach mostly responds when you open the app or ask it something. The direction we're building toward: a coach that comes to you, and surfaces the things you wouldn't think to ask about. It works as one layer with three steps: Detect: as your data arrives (a new ride or run, fresh recovery, a shifted week) the coach checks whether there is something genuinely worth knowing. Decide: a relevance gate, so you are only interrupted when it is earned. No notification spam. Deliver: insights land in an in-app coach feed and a notification, written in your coach's voice. Examples of what the coach might bring up on its own: A new power record, or a jump in your threshold A session that beat what we predicted for it An early heads-up when your recovery trend hints you might be getting sick A plan that rebalanced itself after a missed week Your goal drifting out of reach, while there is still time to act We will start with the positive, high-confidence signals, so the coach earns your trust before it ever sends a warning. Proactive two-way conversations, where the coach opens the chat itself, will come to Max.
Weather-based sport switching
Let the plan adapt to the forecast on multi-sport days. Automatically suggest swapping an outdoor run for an indoor ride (or vice versa) when the weather doesn't cooperate Keep similar duration, TSS and energy-system focus when switching sports Swap the sport on a planned workout while preserving the training intent
Winter endurance sports (cross-country skiing, ski touring)
Plan and rotate winter endurance sports — cross-country skiing, ski touring, skimo — instead of only having them counted after the fact. Includes seasonal sport selection, so your plan can shift to a winter focus (e.g. Nordic skiing primary, indoor riding secondary) and flip back in summer. Prescriptions would be heart-rate based, the way these sports are typically trained.

Route-based training (GPX/FIT upload)
Attach a GPX or FIT course when you create a race, or import a route you have ridden from Intervals.icu. IntervalCoach reads the elevation profile and climbs, sizes your interval work to the climbs the course demands, and turns the profile into segment-by-segment pacing and fuel budgets for race day. Courses shared with a community race appear on the public race page with a GPX download.
Real-time coaching adaptation
Today your coach sets the plan in the morning and stays quiet for the rest of the day. This makes it react within minutes when new signals land — a recovery score, a completed activity, a wellness update — and adjust today’s recommendation, with a clear explanation of what changed and why.
Indoor / Outdoor training mode toggle
Let IntervalCoach know whether a session is done indoors (smart trainer) or outdoors, and tailor the workout to that environment. Indoor mode would lean into what a trainer does well: Shorter, more tightly structured intervals (ERG mode lets you hit exact power) More on-screen coaching cues during the workout (e.g. messages shown on Zwift mid-interval) Outdoor mode would stay flexible — wider power ranges or HR targets and longer, less rigid efforts that survive wind, terrain and traffic. Ideally this is a per-day preference (e.g. Tue/Thu = trainer, Sat/Sun = outside) so the planner can place precision interval work on indoor days and flexible endurance work on outdoor days.
Age-aware training: smarter intensity spacing for masters athletes
Recovery between hard sessions takes longer as you get older. The planner should take your age into account when building the week: fewer back-to-back intensity days, a guaranteed recovery gap between hard sessions, and a more conservative load ramp for masters athletes.
Personalized recovery curve
Your coach learns how you personally recover. Instead of a generic 7-day rolling average, IntervalCoach fits per-stimulus recovery curves from your own HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep — capturing that fatigue builds and clears on a delay, often peaking days after a hard session. Those curves space your hard days and shape your plan around how your body actually bounces back.
Apple Watch companion app
A native Apple Watch app so your coaching is on your wrist. Today's readiness ring and training score at a glance Today's planned workout right on the watch A complication for your watch face
Readiness as a 0-100 score
Show readiness as a single 0-100 number (100 = fully ready, 0 = needs full rest), on a green-to-red scale, instead of just a word like "Steady". An at-a-glance score makes it easier to decide how hard to train today.
Google Health integration
Connect Google Health (Health Connect) directly to IntervalCoach. Bring your HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, and recovery into your daily readiness, and sync completed workouts back automatically — the same tight integration iOS users already get with Apple Health, now for Android and Google users.
Android app
A native IntervalCoach app for Android, alongside the existing iOS app — the same fast, native feel on both platforms.
See the proposed workout's structure before accepting a swap
When the coach proposes a different workout than the one scheduled, the accept-or-decline card shows the name, TSS, total time and the reasons for the change, but not the actual structure of the proposed session. Add the full workout structure right on the card, both as an interval chart and as step-by-step text (warmup / main set / cooldown), so you can see exactly what you're approving before you choose, on the dashboard and in the daily email.
