Why Train Now only shows easy sessions after a hard workout
The recovery window after a hard session, what it changes and what you can do.

After a hard session you may see this notice in Train Now: "Protecting your recovery after Evening Ride: the 32 h window ends Thu 05:08. Easy sessions only until then." Here is what it means and what you can do about it.
Where the recovery window comes from
Every completed session gets a post-workout analysis, and part of that analysis is an estimate of how long you need to recover from it. When that estimate is 24 hours or more, or the analysis recommends taking the next session easier, a recovery window opens from the moment the session ended.
A race or a very hard effort logged today does the same for the rest of the day, until its analysis lands.
What it changes
While the window is open, Get Workout Options in Train Now only suggests easy and recovery sessions, so the quick "what should I do now?" answer does not stack more intensity on a session you are still recovering from.
It does not change your planned sessions, and it does not affect the rest of your plan.
Can I turn it off?
There is no switch for it, and none is needed: the window closes by itself at the time shown in the notice. It is also not the Daily adaptation setting. Turning that off would stop the morning adjustments to your plan and leave this notice exactly where it is.
If you feel ready for intensity anyway
You decide. Pick a workout category yourself in Quick Pick, choose a specific session in All Workouts, or tell Coach+ what you want to do. A session you ask for by name is not held back by the recovery window.
