IntervalCoach MCP (Model Context Protocol)

IntervalCoach can connect to AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor through an MCP server (Model Context Protocol). Once connected, the assistant can use your IntervalCoach coaching tools and training data directly in its chat — check your training status, review recovery, look at your plan, and create or adjust workouts, all from within your AI assistant.

Who can use it

The MCP connection is a Max-plan feature and is currently an opt-in beta. You'll need:

• An active Max subscription
• The MCP server beta turned on (Settings → Beta)

Turn it on

1. Open Settings → Beta in IntervalCoach.
2. Enable MCP server (beta).

Connect from Claude

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Enter the server URL: https://www.intervalcoach.app/api/mcp
3. Claude opens an IntervalCoach authorization screen in your browser. Make sure you're signed in to intervalcoach.app, then click Allow.
4. The IntervalCoach tools appear in Claude. Try asking "What's my training status today?" or "When can I do my next hard session?"

The same steps work in any MCP-compatible client (ChatGPT, Cursor, and others) — add the URL https://www.intervalcoach.app/api/mcp as a custom connector and approve access.

What you can do

The connection exposes the same coaching tools as Coach+, grouped into reads (training status, recovery, activities, plan, performance trends, knowledge) and actions (create or modify a workout, manage a race, update settings, regenerate your plan, save coaching notes). Your assistant decides which to use based on what you ask.

Good to know

• Your AI assistant runs the conversation. The thinking happens in Claude/ChatGPT, so any usage is billed by your AI provider's plan — not by IntervalCoach.
• You're always in control. Access is granted through a one-time approval, and actions that change your calendar or settings ask for confirmation in your assistant before they run.
• Revoke anytime by removing the connector in your AI assistant, or by turning off the MCP server beta in Settings → Beta.
